Steeped in Tradition
These doublecut guitars mix Yamaha's prestigious five decades' of guitar manufacturing with inspiration taken from 1960s Cafe Racer motorbikes. This unique, vintage look really helps the Yamaha Revstar RS502T to stand out from the crowd.
Custom Wound P-90 Pickups
Fitted to the Revstar RS502T, you'll find a pair of YGD V55 P90s. These custom wound, moderately-high-output P-90 style pickups feature Alnico V magnets and silver baseplates, with plain enamel wire, resulting in a rich and focused tone.
The output on these pickups is similar to that of a traditional humbucker, and the addition of the Dry Switch helps take your tone-shaping possibilities even further.
The Dry Switch
Designed by Yamaha exclusively for their Revstar range, this "Dry Switch" is activated via the Push/Pull function on your Master Tone control pot. When activated, this passive circuit filters out your guitar's low frequencies, giving you the punch and clarity of a single coil pickup - but without any of that annoying 60 cycle hum!
