Custom-Voiced Pickups

For the voice on this bass, Yamaha opted to equip a powerful set of custom V7 pickups - a Split Coil in the middle, and a Single Coil at the bridge - which combine for an incredible tonal range.

These pickups - carefully curated to match the Alder/Maple/Alder body - are enhanced by a powerful preamp that features a 3-band EQ, and even an Active/Passive switch, which allows you to dial in some incredibly crisp tones.

Top Notch Hardware

Bringing the whole thing together there is a whole host of premium-quality hardware, such as the Vintage Plus Bridge, that works to enhance the overall sustain and resonance of the strings.

This bridge is designed to that the strings pass through the body of the bass at a 45-degree angle, which places less stress on them compared to a standard bridge setup, offering more efficiant string vibration transfer.

Alternative to this, the bridge will allow you to attach the strings via the tail end, offering a more traditional angle for precise tone shaping.
