Hybrid Maple Shell
The Absolute Hybrid Series adopts the proven hybrid shell technology from Yamaha's flagship PHX Series. The design incorporates a wenge core, a dense and heavy wood from Africa, sandwiched between maple plies, renowned for its clear tone. This hybrid construction produces a drum tone that is rich and clear, spanning the full dynamic range from delicate pianissimo to powerful fortissimo.
Hook Lug
The hook lugs facilitate quick and easy head replacement, precise tuning, and excel in handling high-tension tuning. Lug bases are designed with a minimal footprint to maximize tone output from the hybrid shell.
Optimized Bearing Edge
The bass drum features a 30-degree/R1.5 bearing edge, distinct from the 45-degree/R1.5 edge used on tom and snare shells. This optimized bearing edge contributes to a balanced tone on snare and toms, while enhancing the low-end tone on the bass drum for a deeper, more powerful sound.
Vent Hole
The vent hole placement and number have been meticulously determined through extensive prototype testing. Vent holes play a crucial role in impacting the initial sound, sustain, and tone, influencing the drum's overall performance.
Vintage Finish Interior
Shell interiors boast Yamaha's exclusive "Vintage Natural" finish, enhancing both the drum's tone and visual aesthetics.
3.0mm Aluminium Die-Cast Hoops
The aluminium die-cast hoops deliver a robust, tight sound with an extraordinary attack and decay, contributing to the drum's overall sonic characteristics.
