A Rebirth of Legendary Boutique Amp Sounds
If those coveted boutique guitar amp sounds are your thing, then the Vox MV50 Boutique is for you. This amp covers the range from warm and clean into cutting overdrive that's perfect for expressive leads, and responds naturally to each subtle nuance of your playstyle. Out of all of the MV50 models released to date, the MV50 Boutique gets the closest to that sense of natural compression we all know and love from vintage valve amplifiers.
NuTube Technology
Korg's NuTube tech offers you those well-loved vacuum tube characteristics, but in a shockingly light package. With the MV50 Boutique you have yourself a 50 Watt amp head that's capable of a surprisingly powerful sound, but which only weighs 540 grams (roughly 1/4 the weight of a full-grown Chihuaha, or half the weight of a 1-litre bottle of water). Not only that but its all-analog design helps to perfectly replicate even the complex interactions normally only found in a vintage vacuum tube amp.
Output Options
As you can see from the image of the amps rear, there's a selector switch which allows you to state what your desired output is. At 4 Ohms, for instance, you could plug this fabulous amp into a 4 x 12 speaker cabinet and make full use of the 50 Watts of power on offer - in fact we recently recorded a shared a video to our YouTube channel demonstrating just that, and showing that even with the Volume at about half-way the amp was more than loud enough to be heard over a particularly noisy drummer.
For home-practice you can up the impedance to 16 Ohms, and use a single 1 x 12 cabinet at 12.5 Watts, or even make use of the headphone socket for some real quiet-time.
