The Vic Firth Russ Miller Wire Brushes are a unique and innovative set of brushes designed in collaboration with master drummer Russ Miller to provide drummers with versatility and enhanced performance during brushwork. This set includes two brushes: the "Sweep" brush and the "Ride" brush, each tailored for different playing techniques and sound requirements.
Dual Brush Design
- "Sweep" Brush: Features medium gauge wire for a smooth, subtle sound. The spread of the wires is designed to create a wide swath across the drumhead, making it ideal for sweeping motions and creating a rich, textured swish sound.
- "Ride" Brush: Constructed with tighter spread and heavier gauge wires, this brush provides more projection and incredible rebound, making it perfect for ride patterns and more defined strokes.
Innovative Wire Angling
- Both brushes feature a slight angling of the wires at the top 3/4" of the playing end. This design innovation addresses the common issue of brushes snagging on new coated drumheads. By angling the wires, the brushes glide smoothly across the drumhead, allowing for a more effortless sweep and a velvet-like swish sound.
- The angled wires also increase the surface contact with the drumhead, generating more volume and enhancing the overall sound projection.
