Working together with some of the world’s best drummers, the Vic Firth design team have designed countless prototypes for drumsticks ranging from the more traditional to seriously experimental sticks.
With the Modern Jazz Collection, the Vic Firth team are releasing five of their favourites from this huge range of prototype sticks.
8D Drumsticks with Medium Taper and Nylon Tip
To develop these drumsticks, the Vic Firth team worked with top drummers such as Greg Hutchinson, Jeff Ballard, Joe McCarthy and Lewis Nash.
The MJC5 drumsticks are hickory with a lacquer surface coating. They feature an 8D shaft along with a medium taper for a really nice, balanced feel.
Unique in the Modern Jazz Collection drumsticks line, the MJC5 sticks feature a nylon tip that is a blend between a barrel and oval shape offering a really bright and defined cymbal sound.
Years in the making from a large group of experimental sticks and designed through a unique collaboration with modern jazz artists, these drumsticks are extremely versatile; perfect for the ever-evolving genre of modern jazz and work well with pretty much any drumming style.
