The Vic Firth American Classic 5b PureGrit Drum Sticks were made for drummers with sweaty hands. A new option for improved stick grip.
Grit Your Grip
Very often a drummer’s grip will suffer as a result of hot, clammy, sweaty hands that impair their ability to grip the stick effectively. To combat this Vic Firth have added a new range of sticks to their range, specifically designed to aid those with sweaty hands.
Adding to the line up of grip enhancement finishes, such as VicGrip and DoubleGlaze, Vic Firth have introduced the PureGrit.
These 5b sticks are completely lacquer free and have undergone a unique “abrasive processing step”. This step adds a sense of grittiness to the stick with a raw wood, textured feel. This enables a better grip for those with wet, sweaty hands that is unimpaired by the slick feeling a lacquered stick would normally give.
And, because the stick isn’t treated, over time the player’s perspiration and oil will make its way into the stick creating a more natural feel when gripped.
The PureGrit sticks are available in 5a and 5b options. The 5b has a standard 16” length and .595” diameter. They have a medium taper and a tear drop wood tip.
