100% Maple Shells

Well known for its even high and mid frequency response and luscious warm lows, maple delivers a great all-purpose drum sound.

Featuring a 6-ply shell construction on the toms and snare and a slightly thicker 8-ply build on the bass drum, the Tama Superstar Classic kit has a full, powerful character.

The kit features carefully selected maple shells that have gone through an intently focussed shell moulding process before the cutting of the bearing edge shape.

Power Craft II Drumheads

The Superstar Classic Maple Drum Kit is fitted with Power Craft 2 drumheads as standard to deliver a great sound straight out of the box.

The toms and bass feature clear Superstar Power Craft 2 heads and the snare has a duo snare batter head for a durable and responsive feel.

The bass drum head also features ring mufflers preventing the need for extra internal muffling and ensuring an instantly satisfying bass response.

Tom Holder

The Tama Superstar Classic drums come complete with a Tama L-Rod and Omnisphere Tom holder system to ensure strong, stable and secure tom mounting from the bass drum.

Featuring an acclaimed design, the omnisphere tom mount serves to provide easy positioning, maximum flexibility and reliable stability.

Designed to prevent impedance of the tom sound, great care has been taken in the design of the Tama tom holder to make sure it aids resonance rather than dampening the drum shell.

Delivering better sound support than standard tom mount designs that penetrate the shell interior and inhibit resonance, the tom omnisphere and l-arm ensures robust tom placement without jeopardising the tone.

Low-Mass Lugs

Delivering a classic look in keeping with the name of the drum kit, the streamlined low mass single lugs of the Tama Superstar Classic give a nod to the simpler art and design of 1970s drum kits.

The 18" Tama Superstar Classic shell pack features the newly design low mass lugs which not only add a sleek appearance to the kit but also serve to benefit the drum sound.

The small size of the lugs ensures limited contact with the shell by reducing the surface area that the lugs occupy.

The result is a stylish compact lug that doesn't hinder drum resonance, instead it maintains minimal contact with the shell to ensure as little interference with the sound as possible.

Star-Mount System

Specifically developed to increase drum resonance, the new Tama Star-Mount System provides support at 4 different points on the batter side hoop.

The star mount rim links to 4 tension rods to ensure a strong hold that remains separate from the drum shell at all times, ensuring unimpeded resonance and improved shell vibration.

Aiding further flexibility and comfortable positioning, should you ever want to add a second rack tom to the kit, the bracket eye-bolts of the Star Mount System can be slid left and right to prevent the eye-bolts from touching each other even when toms are set up close together.
