Originally designed in the 1980's, the design team at Tama came to the conclusion that they needed a drum kit that evolved trends, always with the professional player in view. From this, the Starclassic drum kit was developed.

The Starclassic Drum kit has become a classic icon in the drumming universe, changing design through the years to meet the altering mind of the musician, ticking all the boxes of the modern drummer.

With numerous options, including a selection of more than 30 different shell sizes and three shell hardware finishes as well as a large range of colours, the Starclassic shell series gives the drummer the to control to complete their perfect kit.

Walnut/Birch Construction

The toms and floor tom shells are crafted from the the combination of Walnut and Birch. With focused attack of the 6mm 4-ply birch on the outside and the warm firm 2-ply walnut on the inside. This emanates a sweet and mellow sound with a punchy after-thought.

The bass drum has a thicker combination of birch and walnut. Featuring 8mm 5-ply birch on the outside and 2-ply walnut on the inside. From these matching tonewoods, the bass drum warmly resonates sweetly with a thumping attack.

Star-Cast Mounting System

The Star-Cast Mounting System features on this Starclassic kit which has always produced better resonance and stability for TAMA's pro-drum series. The slim-design makes positioning the toms closer together, for more comfortable playing, and the aluminium makes them more lightweight. Finished to match the shell packs hardware, giving a smooth consistancy throughout the kit.

Quick-Lock Brackets

Fitted nn the toms and floor toms are the Tama designed Quick-Lock brackets. This makes assembly and disassembly faster, and being able to adjust the kit quicker. The Floor Tom feet feature air pockets which works like air suspension. This removes the transfer of vibrations to the floor (cutting sustain and sound) and absorbs shock for better floor tom stability. All tension bolts are equipped with Tama Hold Tight washers for tuning stability.

Evans Skins

The drums are fitted with Evans G2 (drum heads), G1 (resonance heads) and EQ4 (bass drum) series. Providing balance, durability and a solid sound, these heads work perfectly with this Tama Kit.
