The Tama Starclassic shell pack is a 4-piece pro-spec drum kit engineered from a Walnut and Birch wood combination. Finished in a beautiful Molten Brown Burst Lacquer, these shell packs defines Tama's design and construction skill in modern drum crafting and amazing aesthetic styling.
In the 1980's the design and development team at Tama came to the realisation that they needed a drum kit that transcended trends. They used this gathering of resources to develop a kit with the professional drummer in mind. The Starclassic series was born.
These Starclassic Drum kits have become a developing series in the drumming world, changing design to meet the developing mind of the drummer, creating a kit that truly works for the modern player.
Available in a selection of more than 30 different shell sizes and three shell hardware finishes as well as a large range of colour options, the Starclassic shell series lets the drummer choose the perfect set-up for their personal drumming needs.
Walnut/Birch Construction
The toms and floor tom shells are crafted from the the combination of Walnut and Birch. With focused attack of the 6mm 4-ply birch on the outside and the warm firm 2-ply walnut on the inside. This produces a sweet mellow sound with a low-end punch.
The bass drum utilises a thicker combination of birch and walnut. Featuring 8mm 5-ply birch on the outside and 2-ply walnut on the inside. The bass drum ripples warm resonate tones with a thumping attack.
Star-Cast Mounting System
The Star-Cast Mounting System features on this Starclassic kit which has always produced better resonance and stability for TAMA's pro-drum series. With a slim-design, this makes positioning the toms easier and closer together, for a more comfortable playing situation. The aluminium makes them more lightweight and they're finished to match the hardware.
Quick-Lock Brackets
Fitted on the toms and floor tom are the Tama engineered Quick-Lock brackets. This makes set up and disassembly quicker. The Floor Tom feet feature air pockets which works like air suspension. This removes the transfer of vibrations to the floor (cutting sustain and sound) and absorbs shock for better floor tom stability. All tension bolts are equipped with Tama Hold Tight washers for tuning stability.
Evans Skins
The drums are fitted with Evans G2 (drum heads), G1 (resonance heads) and EQ4 (bass drum) series. Providing balance, durability and a solid sound, these heads work perfectly with this Tama Kit.

If you and your item aren’t getting along, you have 14 days from when you receive the goods to contact our PMT experts either by phone or email to return your item.
