Die-Cast Hoops

The hoops drastically affect the sound and tuning of any drum shell.

With this in mind, Tama opted for zinc die-cast hoops which are manufactured via a molten metal injection moulding process.

As a result, you get denser, more consistently shaped hoops than you can expect from standard triple flanged hoops which are made by bending metal plates.

Having zinc die-cast hoops fitted, the shells of the Tama Starclassic Walnut/Birch 4pc drum shell kit offer crisper attack, clear, resonant highs and incredibly powerful rim shots.

Star-Cast Mounting System

Featuring the exclusive Star-Cast Mounting System, the Tama Starclassic Walnut/Birch drum kit boasts maximum resonance and stability.

With its streamlined, easy-to-use design, the Star-Cast Mounting System makes positioning the toms closer together a breeze for a better, more comfortable playing experience.

This mounting system now uses aluminium so it’s lightweight and gives you tonal vibration that’s truer to your drum’s tone.

As an added bonus, the Star-Cast now comes plated so it matches the hardware of the drum shells for improved aesthetics.

Patented Quick-Lock Tom Brackets

The Star-Cast Mounting System and floor tom found in this shell pack also benefit from the new “Quick-Lock” tom brackets.

Not only is it quick and easy to setup and break down thanks to these brackets, but they also have instant memory locking.

All you have to do is slide the switch on the tom bracket and it separates into two parts. When you take off the drum, the memory lock part of the bracket stays on the tom stand or floor tom leg so it’s always ready for you to place the drum back exactly where you want it.

Furthermore, thanks to their rubber lining, the tom brackets isolate the drum shells in order to enhance resonance.

Claw Hooks and Hold Tight Washers

The claw hooks used on the bass drum also feature rubber spacers which help protect the wooden hoops from damage. The hooks and hoops work together as a single unit so they won’t separate or rattle, even when you tune loosely.

Another great feature found on the Tama Starclassic shell pack are the patented Hold Tight Washers.

These cup-shaped stainless steel washers contain rubber rings which makes it so the tension rod pushes the cup washer and rubber ring together.

With standard washers, the vibration of playing the drums will cause the tension rod to loosen over time. With the Hold Tight washers however, the rubber ring maintains contact with both the tension rod and hoop at all times, preserving the tension.

Air Cushioned Legs and Convenient Spurs

The floor tom legs feature Starclassic’s Air Pocket rubber feet. Featuring a special air chamber, these rubber feet absorb shock and give you a better playing experience. Without them, vibration from your strikes would transfer from the drum into the floor, killing your sustain and muting your sound.

For the bass drum spurs, Tama have fitted an MSB30 die-cast bracket that holds them securely using the same, high-powered hinge mechanism found on the MTB30 mounting bracket.

Furthermore, the folding spur bracket holds unique memory markers which makes setting up quick and easy.
