Skilled Japanese Metalworkers

The Tama STAR Snare has been engineered by skilled Japanese metalworkers, hand-hammering the brass of the snare making each one unique and individual.

The hand-hammered design delivers that high-end balanced tone that you would expect of a snare at this level of craftsmanship.

The shell is hammered thinner at the edges, by using a large diameter hammer, with a smaller diameter hammer in the middle. This creates a barrel-shaped snare.

The 5.5" Shell of this snare really stands out, and would perfectly match up with any style kit or colour.

Stunning and Beautiful Sounding

The hand-hammered 1.5mm shell produces a stunning and beautiful sounding snare. The natural tone of the brass shell is accentuated, producing a clear and crisp release when being played.

The individual hand-hammered finish creates a tone that is balanced and resonant, something you wouldn't find from a machine hammered snare of equal measure.

Customized Flanged Hoops

The Tama STAR Snare features 2.3mm Customized Brass Hoops. Slightly shaved down at the edges, generating a bright and direct attack.

These custom brass hoops combined with the hand-hammered brass shell results in a Tama Snare that crafts a rich warm tone, vibrant and clear attack, that will enhance and promote any studio or live drum mix.

Super Sensitive Hi-Carbon Snare Wire

On the underside, a custom Super Sensitive Hi-Carbon snare wire is attached. Tama re-engineered their snappy snare, using new materials and a redesigned plate and winding pattern.

This resulted in a snare wire that sits closer to the snare side head, developing greater sensitivity and a biting, brighter sound.
