Quick Set Hi-Hat Clutch

Featuring a patented design, the Tama Quick Set Hi Hat clutch provides a simple and speedy way to set up and pack down your hi-hats.

Simply push the button on the side of the clutch to attach and remove the top cymbal from the clutch quickly and easily.

Push the button one way to set the clutch in place, then when it’s time to pack down simply push the button the other way to release your top hat cymbal. Easy as that. No twisting, tightening or unscrewing needed.

The quick set clutch also allows the top hi hat to float more freely. Whereas screw tight clutches can be over tightened which restricts the movement of the top hat cymbal, the quick set clutch maintains a firm grip without over tightening.

The result is a top hi-hat that is allowed to float more freely maximising the natural resonance of the cymbal.

So not only do you get a quicker set up and pack down time with the quick set clutch, you also gain improved hi-hat resonance.

6-Way Tension Adjustment

Offering even more customisable options, Tama have designed the Iron Cobra hi-hat stand so that the tension of the foot pedal can be changed quickly and easily.
This allows you to achieve your most comfortable responsive playing feel.

There are 6 different levels of tension that can be quickly adjusted by using the six easily visible settings.

Simply slide the pin up and down the mountain-shaped plastic tension adjuster to set your ideal foot pedal playing feel.

Spring Seat

The Tama HH805D hi-hat stand features a patented spring seat that allows for quick and easy adjustment of the bottom hat cymbal.

Changing the angle of the bottom hi-hat results in a crisper and clearer hi-hat foot sound compared to leaving the bottom hat completely flat.

This is because the cymbal angle allows for a more robust contact between the top and bottom hat that makes for a more impactful hi-hat sound when played with your foot.

Footboard Angle Adjustment

As with the Iron Cobra bass drum pedal, the Tama Iron Cobra Velo Glide provides the ability to adjust the angle of the footboard in order to set your most comfortable playing position.

Furthermore, the ability to adjust the footboard of both the iron cobra bass and hi-hat pedals means double pedal players can perfectly match the angle between the hi-hat footboard and the slave-side footboard, allowing for seamless movement between the two.

Spare-The-Rod

The Iron Cobra 900 Velo Glide also features a clever function designed to prevent your hi-hat rod from bending out of shape.

Often the most delicate piece of hardware in your gear bag it’s not uncommon for the hi-hat rod to be bent and damaged during storage or transportation.

That’s why Tama have designed this aptly named feature to protect the tension rod when the hi-hat stand isn’t in use.

Basically, this function allows the tension rod to be packed into the upper pipe section of the hi-hat stand.

Simply insert the tension rod into the upper tube, then hold it in place with the hi-hat clutch.

The upper tube then covers the tension rod to keep it safely protected against knocks during transportation and storage.

No more bent hi-hat rods!

Glide-Tite Grip Joint

This patented design provides a more secure attachment ensuring your hi-hat height setting remains securely in place.

Using a metal to metal contact joint, this Glide-Tite Grip creates an extremely solid anchor point that provides complete isolation from the cymbals.

This means the stand doesn’t move with the instrument during play. Instead it allows the cymbals to respond naturally without interference resulting in maximum resonance.

Overall this feature provides a more solid hi-hat set up whilst offering a more natural hi-hat response.

Non-Loosening Tension Rod

Another patented feature of the Iron Cobra 900 hi-hat pedal is the non-loosening tension rod specifically designed to offer a solid hi-hat setup.

The tension rod features a specially shaped plastic and metal nuts that fit together perfectly to keep the cymbal rod from loosening while playing.

Having to continually tighten the hi-hat rod during rehearsals and gigs can become somewhat of a pain.

That’s why Tama have utilised this innovative design to avoid the need to constantly check and tighten the rod by ensuring it remains tightly fastened from your first hit to your last stroke.

Dual Legs

The 2 leg design of the Tama Velo Glide hi-hat stand allows for super easy set up when you have limited space.

Whether you have a small practice room or you need to load in at a small venue, this Tama 2 leg hi-hat stand will ensure you have enough space to set up comfortably.

You’d be forgiven for thinking that a two legged hi-hat stand would be less stable than a 3 legged one, but in fact this 2 leg option is more secure than the standard three leg version.

This is thanks to the small stabiliser positioned underneath the footboard of the stand which effectively shifts the balance and strength of the stand forwards towards the player for a super sturdy, reliable playing set up.

Furthermore, because there isn’t a steel plate under the footboard the pedal can be easily folded into the stand for a quick set up and fast tear down, resulting in a compact pack down size which makes for easy portability.

Tilt System

In addition to the sturdy 2 leg design, the Tama Iron Cobra Velo Glide also features a tilt system that allows for an even more flexible set up.

Allowing the whole stand to be tilted not only provides the stand with a more stable playing position it also allows for more expressive hi-hat work. This is because tilting the hats results in a more robust contact between the top and bottom cymbals for a thicker tone.

Tilting the hi-hat stand is done quickly and easily by loosening just one bolt. Simple as that! A super easy way to change up your sound and your playing position.

Oiles Bearing Hinge and Hinge Guard Block

The Tama Iron Cobra hi-hat features a patented Oiles Bearing Hinge that reduces friction even more than standard ball bearings for a truly smooth footboard movement.

The Oiles hinge also eliminates side to side motion which creates a much more solid, sturdy playing feel and provides extra durability to this robust, rugged hi-hat stand.

The Hinge Guard Block of this Tama stand has also been improved by changing the previously one-piece design to a two-piece assembly.

The result of this change is a pedal hinge that holds the bearing more evenly, minimising stress and maximising smoothness, whilst adding a sense of power to the playing feel.

Duo-Spike

Yet another patented feature of the Tama Velo Glide Hi-hat stand, the Duo-Spike makes sure your stand stays securely in place.

The large rubber treaded grip feet feature a hidden spike that can be utilised as and when needed to add further security to your hi-hat set up.

Easily switch from the standard rubber feet to the metal spike by using a standard drum key.

Turning the key reveals the hidden spike to provide instant added stability to ensure your stand stays exactly where you place it.

Swivel Foot

The foot pedal of the Tama HH805D hi-hat stand can be rotated around the dual leg base allowing for super easy space saving set up.

Easily position the hi-hat footboard around double bass drum pedals or other percussion pedals to achieve your most comfortable playing set-up.

Additional Short Rod

As well as the standard long hi-hat rod, the Tama Iron Cobra Velo Glide comes with a short hi-hat rod too as standard.

This provides the drummer with a choice of rod lengths that they can switch to as and when they need to based on their unique set up needs.
