Vintage Inspired

In true Strymon fashion, the Volante was specially designed to recreate every nuance and complexity inherent in classic tape and drum echo delays. Each and every attribute was painstakingly researched and faithfully recreated so that, when used, the Volante will sound and feel just like one of those vintage units, with the following types available to you:

• Drum Delay - renowned for producing warm, harmonically rich, and saturated sounds due mostly to the number of tube stages present. As a result, this setting on the Volante recreates every aspect of some of the most sought-after drum echoes in the industry.
• Tape Echo - each and every characteristic of those Tape Echo effects of yesteryear have been recreated for the Volante. All of the saturation, and characteristic imperfections that make those effects stand out - such as mechanical alignment, head wear, and tape crinkles - are present here
• Studio Delay - Easily the cleanest of the three echo types found in the Volante. This type is able to sustain multiple repeats with minimal signal degradation, recreating the professional reel-to-reel studio machines of the 50s and 60s

Multi-Head Functionality

An iconic multi-head echo machine (such as the Binson Echorec B2) would cost you more than a pretty penny on the second hand market - several thousand £'s in fact. Luckily for you, the Strymon Volante provides you with the full experience and sonic attributes of this kind of effect for a much lower price.

Each of the Volante's four delay playback heads feature individual feedback, panning, and level controls, and all four can be active simultaneously - giving you an incredible number of creative options at your fingertips.

Bags of Presets

Recalling your favourite settings couldn't be easier, with the Strymon Volante giving you instant access to eight different preset locations. Although, if 8 isn't quite enough, there's no need to worry: because of the MIDI, USB and 1/4" Expression-pedal sockets, you can access up to a whopping 300 preset locations!

Analog Dry Path

With many digital effects pedals, your "dry" (unaltered) signal is converted to digital, which can have some negative effects with your overall sound. Not so with the Strymon Volante: this pedal features a completely analog dry path, with ultra-low noise, and features discrete, class-A stereo JFET preamps.

In other words your dry signal will remain pristine, with studio-quality audio.

Cutting Edge DSP

The beating-heart of the Volante is a high-powered SHARC ADSP-21375 processor. This processor provides 266 MHz core instruction rate, and a massive 1,596 Gigaflops of peak performance. In other words, you can have the Volante perform all sorts of outrageous, processor-intense effects, without ever worrying about loss of quality.
