SPL has ingeniously crafted the Phonitor X to serve as the ultimate headphone amplifier, seamlessly bridging the realms of professional and consumer audio. Beyond its exceptional headphone amplifier capabilities, the Phonitor X excels as a fully featured preamplifier, perfectly suited for driving power amplifiers and even active studio monitors. Powered by SPL's exclusive 120v rail technology, known as VOLTAiR, the Phonitor X lives up to its name by providing a substantial 120 volts. This, coupled with an impressive dynamic range surpassing 140 dB, ensures a remarkable audio experience.
The Phonitor X offers flexibility by accommodating up to five input sources, including balanced and unbalanced options. Analog inputs are available through XLR and RCA connectors, while digital inputs (accessible with SPL's optional DAC upgrade board) come in the form of coaxial, optical, and USB connections.
When pushed to its maximum output, the Phonitor X astounds with a remarkable 3.7W, delivering breathtaking playback characterized by tight bass response and a transparent mid and high-end reproduction.
Thanks to its ingenious Phonitor Matrix technology, intelligent crossfading of channels is made possible, faithfully emulating the immersive experience of listening to monitors within a professional studio control room.
The Phonitor X model comes equipped with a streamlined control set, featuring four switchable speaker angle settings and an adjustable crossfade function that allows for alteration of interaural level difference. This empowers the listener to adjust the influence of room size characteristics during playback, providing a personalized and immersive audio experience.
