Beautiful Birch
As with all the drums in the Sonor SQ1 range, this Sonor snare drum is crafted from 100% European birch to deliver rich versatile tone.
Known for it’s loud and cutting sound, birch produces boosted highs, subdued mids and a great punchy low-end response.
Offering a superbly well-rounded sound character, this birch snare is capable of fulfilling the needs of all styles and settings.

CLTF & OSM
Sonor utilises two main production processes in the creation of their SQ1 snares.
The first is their Cross Lamination Tension Free process which works to ensure the most stable drum shell possible to accommodate rich, unimpeded resonance.
The second is their Optimum Shell Measurement which means the outside of the shell has a slightly narrowed measurement in order to allow better contact between the drumhead and the bearing edge.
The combination of these two techniques serves to ensure this Sonor snare is easy to tune and delivers excellent sustain.

Sonor look inspiration from the slick style of classic cars in the creation of the finishes for their SQ1 drums.
Available in 4 matte lacquer finish options, each of the Sonor SQ1 snares deliver a style that is instantly reminiscent of old school automotive style.
All of the finishes are handcrafted with Sonor’s precision sanding, polishing and lacquering procedures to ensure a snare with a stunning aesthetic.
The interior of this 14” x 6.5” snare is also applied with a special lacquer to ensure a consistently high-quality finish inside and out.
The rich light blue colour of the Cruiser blue finish is complemented perfectly by the all chrome hardware to provide a stylishly sophisticated look.
Dual Glide Snare System
One of the most innovative aspects of this snare drum is the inclusion of the Dual Glide Snare System.
The Dual Glide Snare Strainer enables you to remove the snare wires from the drum without needing to unfasten the snares from the strainer.
Both the butt plate and the strainer feature quick release functionality allowing you to remove the snare wires quickly and conveniently.
Being able to remove and replace the snare wires easily means this snare system accomodates fast resonant head changes without losing your desired snare tension setting.
