The SPB-4 Steve Harris Signature P-Bass pickup uses Alnico 5 rod magnets and a unique vintage-hot coil wind that delivers a forceful sound with pushed midrange but tight bass and treble response. Measuring in at 13k DC resistance, the SPB-4 is more dynamic and sensitive to Steve's unique two finger playing style and drives the preamp section of an amplifier hard without clipping.
complete setupThe SPB-4 can be used alone in standard Precision bass setup or paired with an STK-J2b Hot Stack for Jazz for noise-free and unrelenting tone. Or, try an SJB-3b Quarter Pound for Jazz in the bridge for the ultimate bass assault.
For Steve's sound use a bass made with an Alder body and Maple neck. The tone will be just as fierce with an Ash body or Rosewood fretboard.
