Previously, obtaining humbucker, P-90, and vintage Strat tones meant lugging around three guitars. Enter the Seymour Duncan P-Rails Humbucker. It's a full-sized humbucker that can transform into a full-sized P-90 or a unique Alnico-powered single-coil Rail pickup.
The humbucker delivers a rich, expansive sound due to its coil configuration. The P-90 offers a thick, full tone while combining the Rail coils replicate the Strat's "2" and "4" positions.
For optimal results, pair P-Rails in both the neck and bridge positions. To switch between humbucker and P-90 tones, use a two-way switch (push-pull or mini-toggle). For a three-way option, including the single-coil Rail, employ a DPDT on-off-on switch.
