Two switchable attenuation pads prevent the X1 S from overloading any audio interface or mixer when miking loud sources. Two switchable low cut filters at 80Hz or 160Hz are ideal to filter rumble and foot-fall noise or compensate for proximity effect.

The SE X1 S also features best-in-class SPL capability and the highest dynamic range to date. The -10 dB and -20 dB pad switches provide extended dynamic range, enabling a wide range of applications and close-mic techniques for even the loudest instruments...think super-heavy electric guitars, fortissimo brass instruments, and heavy-footed kick drums.
