This Sabian AAX Thin Ride was introduced at NAMM 2019 as the part of the transformation of the AAX line.
The revamp of the popular AAX series sees the introduction of a range of new cymbals, the delisting of less popular options and the persistence of the Omni, Freq, X-Plosion and Aero.
The overhaul also brings with it the use of a new hammering process which works to deliver a set of new AAX cymbals with a wider frequency range and a more versatile depth of tone.

Wider Band of Frequency
Sabian have used a new hammering process in the creation of their new Sabian AAX cymbals in order to deliver a range of sound options with increased frequency response.
Delivering a new look as well as a new sound, the hammering style involves a larger, rounder peen which produces a much more visibly hammered cymbal surface.
In addition to the aesthetic difference, the hammering process works to expand the frequency response of the ride by extending the highs as well as incorporating a more complex, slightly darker character to the lows.
The result is a thinner ride with a broader depth of sound.
Superb Crash Ability
This AAX thin ride features a smaller raw bell than typically seen on cymbals of this size which helps to provide a superb washy crash response.
The small bell helps to keep the ride weight to a minimum allowing it to open up quickly to achieve bright blasts of accenting tone.
Offering a great range of sound from one cymbal, this ride enables you to play crisp ride patterns as well as impactful crash accents.
