Added to the Sabian AAX cymbal series as part of the range revamp unveiled at NAMM 2019, this Sabian Heavy Ride injects a new palette of sound to the AAX line.
The transformed AAX series offers a more streamlined range of sounds that sees the removal of less popular options, the prevalence of successful models and the introduction of all new cymbals.
Using a completely new hammering process, this heavy ride cymbal provides a much thinner feel for greater crash ability, increased highs and darker lows.

Big Bell for Better Crash
The Sabian AAX 22 inch Heavy Ride utilises a larger, raw bell in order to provide improved crash ability.
Housing a bell that is much bigger than typically found on ride cymbals of this size, the 22 inch heavy ride is able to achieve a surprisingly agile crash response.
Providing a combination of full swelling crash tone, crisp stick response and accenting bell, this Sabian ride cymbal delivers superb versatility.
Thinner Feel
As with all the new cymbals in the AAX series, this heavy ride cymbal features a whole new hammering process.
Utilising a larger, rounder peen, this new hammering style not only creates a much more visibly hammered aesthetic, it also serves to provide the cymbal with a much thinner feel which aids crash ability.
Furthermore, the hammering process widens the frequency range of the cymbal by adding more highs to the sound, as well as injecting a hint of darkness into the lows.
The end result is a ride cymbal with great crash ability, increased bright highs and slightly darker, more complex lows.
