The Sabian AAX 16" Thin Brilliant Finish Crash Cymbal delivers a slightly brighter attack than the natural finish alternative, combined with lusciously dark low-end wash.
AAX Brilliant Thin Crash
The AAX Cymbal series was first introduced by Sabian in 1993 and quickly became popular thanks to its forward thinking, modern sound.
Now, over 25 years later Sabian have revamped the range to meet the changing demands of current music styles and playing preferences.
Revealed at NAMM 2019, alongside a new, much talked about logo, the new and evolved AAX line sees the delisting of less popular options while the popular X-Plosion, Freq, Aero and Omni remain.
The revamp also includes the introduction of a series of thin, medium and heavy rides as well as thin and medium crashes, which all feature a new hammering style to deliver increased highs, a touch more darkness and a more complex overall tone.

The new AAX 16" Thin Brilliant Finish Crash combines a small, raw bell and a new pronounced hammering process to deliver a sound that features a faster attack, a thinner response and a darker tone.

New Hammering, Brilliant Finish
All of the cymbals in the new AAX range feature an innovative, new hammering style which serves to deliver a new look and a wider frequency range.
The new hammering process utilises a larger, rounder peen which produces a more pronounced, more visible hammered look to the cymbal surface.
Not only does this more pronounced hammering create a shimmering aesthetic, it also provides an increased frequency response that's filled with bright highs and a more complex depth of tone.
