The Sabian AAX 16 inch Medium Brilliant Finish Crash Cymbal features a larger raw bell and new hammering style to deliver faster, more complex tone. The brilliant finish offers a slightly brighter response than the natural finish version.
Bright, Complex Crash
Part of the newly revamped AAX series, this 16 inch crash was unveiled at the 2019 NAMM show alongside a variety of new additions to the AAX line and a brand-new logo.
Offering a more streamlined series of sounds, the overhaul of the AAX series saw the removal of less popular models, the persistence of the Freq, X-Plosion, Omni and Aero ranges and the introduction of a series of new crashes, hi-hats and rides.
The new AAX cymbals also feature a whole new hammering style to provide sounds filled with smoother, more refined highs and increased tonal complexity.

New Style Hammering
All the new cymbals in the AAX range feature a completely new AAX hammering style.
Incorporating a bigger, rounder peen, this hammering process results in a crash with a much more visibly hammered cymbal surface.
The new hammering style also expands the frequency bandwidth of the crash by opening up the top end, whilst also adding a more complex character to the low end.
The brilliant finish of this 16 inch crash also serves to add an extra shimmer of brightness to the highs compared to the natural finish counterpart.
The combination of the finish and the new hammering style results in an AAX crash that has increased bright highs and slightly darker lows for a sound that's well represented across the frequencies.

In addition to the new hammering style, this Sabian AAX Medium Crash features a larger raw bell which serves to provide a chunkier sound to the crash.
