Honoring Chris Huggett: The Visionary Behind the PWM Mantis Hybrid-Analog Synthesizer

Chris Huggett was a renowned British engineer and synthesizer designer known for his significant contributions to the music industry. He co-founded Electronic Dream Plant (EDP) in the late 1970s, where he designed the iconic Wasp synthesizer, and later joined Oxford Synthesizer Company, which developed the OSCar. Huggett was also instrumental at Novation, where he contributed to the development of popular products such as the Bass Station and the Supernova.

Before his death, Chris Huggett played a crucial role in the creation of the PWM Mantis Hybrid-Analog Keyboard Synthesizer. His expertise and innovative vision were key in developing the Mantis' hybrid-analog sound engine, which combines the warmth of analog synthesis with the versatility of digital control. Huggett's legacy lives on through the Mantis, a testament to his enduring impact on the world of synthesizers and electronic music.
