Inspired By A Classic
In 1987, after the initial success of the Custom 24 and Custom 22, Paul Reed Smith decided to adopt a different approach for the Standard Series.
These new Standard guitars features a stripped-down, all Mahogany construction, and have been reimagined here for the awesome S2 series - a range of gig-ready guitars, with a pricetag to match.
Premium-Grade Construction
With its solid Mahogany body and set in Mahogany neck, the PRS S2 Standard 24 offers a distinctive natural resonance and powerful sustain.
In addition to this, you get the rich, round, warm tone of Mahogany is perfectly complimented by the powerful pickups to bring you a veritable workhorse of a guitar that suited to any playstyle and musical genre.
Tonally Distinctive
Thanks to the inclusion of a 58/15 "S" pickup set, the PRS S2 Standard offers a balanced tone, with clear highs and strong mids.
These pickups can be fine-tuned with the Volume and Tone controls, whilst the Tone pot also houses a Push/Pull coil-split function, allowing you to switch from Humbucker to Single Coil sounds and back again.
