Building The S2 Standard
In 1987 PRS went on to develop the stripped-back Standard series, delivering an altogether bare-bones approach in comparison to the oppulent Core lineup, and they were an instant success.
With their all-Mahogany construction, and no-nonsense approach to aesthetics, guitars like the Standard 22 were born, and are now available in the gig-ready S2 lineup.

Featuring a solid Mahogany body, with a set-in Mahogany neck, and an all-over Gloss finish, this guitar offers an incredible natural tone.
With all of this together you get a guitar that produces the rich, round, warm tones of Mahogany, which works perfectly with the vintage-inspired 58/15 "S" pickups.
Warm, Sweet, And Toneful
As mentioned above, the PRS S2 Standard 22 comes equipped with a set of 58/15 "S" humbuckers, seated in the neck and bridge positions.
These pickups offer plenty of clear highs and strong mids, with the Push/Pull Coil-Tap function on the Tone pot adding extra versatility into the mix, and making the guitar suitable for most styles of music.
