Recreating A Legend

Back in 2018 both Paul Reed Smith and his chief amp designed Doug Sewell were able to extensively study an amplifier which had previously belonged to the legendary Jimi Hendrive - the one he purportedly played during his famous Woodstock set.

As a result of this the pair of them set out to design and create what became known as the newly-documented "Authentic Hendrix" Touring Circuit, and thus the PRS HDRX amplifier heads were born.

These amps are specially-designed to push the high-end into the point of clarity without ever getting harsh, and allows for sonic aggression that can easily be backed off for smooth, sweet tones.

Exquisite Tone-Shaping Features

To dial in for perfect tones the PRS HDRX 50 comes equipped with a 3-band TMB tone stack, a 3-way bright switch, high-mid gain switch, and presence controls.

Each of these features mirror what was found on the original Hendrix amplifier, and offer accurate control over your output.

Innovative 2-Channel Design

Whilst there are many amplifiers on the market with multiple channels, the PRS HDRX 50 is created with internally bridged channels that feature independent volume controls, eliminating the need for an external jumper cable.

This deisgn allows you to easily dial in your distortion level and tone by blending the lead and bass channels' individual volume controls, adding a more contemporary level of convenience to this vintage-voiced amplifier.

Please Note: as this is a vintage stock volume amplifier, it's highly recommended that you use a volume attenuator with it unless you're performing in the largest of venues. Just be sure that the resistance of the attenuator matches that of the cabinet you are using.
