Built to Shred, Made to Last
For the RG550-DY, Ibanez have brought you a throwback model that looks and plays like those classic late 80s/early 90s Ibanez superstrats that helped make the company such a big hit. Featuring a V7/S1/V8 humbucker and single coil pickup configuration, Edge Tremolo bridge, tilt neck joint (with stamped metal plate), a lightweight basswood body, Super Wizard neck, and Maple fretboard with black dot inlays, the RG550 is a hard-rockers dream come true!
High Grade Electronics
With a set of tried-and-tested Ibanez V7 and V8 humbuckers, combined with an Ibanez S1 single coil pickup, the RG550-DY can offer you a huge variety of tones.
The V7 is tight, but bright for a neck humbucker, providing you with a dynamic playing experience that's perfect for chording and rhythm work.
With the V8 you get a warm yet articulate lead pickup, with plenty of enhanced overtones, and great harmonics without excessive brightness.
Add into the mix an Ibanez S1 single coil pickup in the mid-position, and you have yourself even more tonal combinations to play around with!
Super Wizard Neck
Ibanez's legendary super-thin Wizard neck has been given an upgrade for the Genesis Collection. Still featuring the ultra-playability of the original, the Super Wizard is specially constructed with road-tested durability, ensuring consistent performances night after night.
Edge Tremolo
The original Ibanez Edge Tremolo/Bridge unit has long been a favourite of some of the world's top guitarsts.
