With the Taylor 914ce V-Class Electro-Acoustic Guitar you get an extremely popular guitar that makes a welcome return with an innovative new bracing system.

A Taylor Classic, Updated With V-Class Bracing

The Taylor 914ce Grand Auditorium is an extremely popular electro-acoustic guitar, but Taylor are always looking for ways to improve the experience that their customers have with their guitars.

Featuring Taylor's new V-Class bracing, the 914ce sounds better than ever with improved tone, volume and sustain.

Taylor 914ce V-Class Electro-Acoustic Guitar Highlights

  • V-Class Bracing
  • Sitka Spruce Top
  • Indian Rosewood Back and Sides
  • West African Ebony Fretboard
  • Venetian Cutaway
  • Expression System 2 Electronics

Taylor V-Class Bracing

V-Class body bracing is a game changing development in Acoustic Guitar sound. This proprietary technology transforms the way an acoustic top vibrates and improves volume, sustain and tuning consistency - a bold departure away from traditional X-Braced designs.

Each V-Class Guitar features a distinctive black graphite nut (with a new formula for smoother tuning) and a new interior label, a design that features master designer Andy Powers' signature for the first time.

  • More Volume - Taylor's V-Class bracing controls the top's flexibility, creating a more orderly rocking motion across both sides of the top. The controlled flexing movement produces greater volume
  • Longer Sustain - V-Class bracing maintains stiffness along the middle of the guitar, in the direction of the strings. That rigidity keeps the strings in motion, producing notes that resonate longer before fading out
  • Better Intonation - V-Class bracing makes the top more in tune with the vibrating strings. This eliminates much of the interference that causes some notes to waver and sound slightly out of tune. As a result, notes and chords played anywhere on the neck are more consistent and in tune with each other

Taylor's Signature Body Shape

The Taylor 914ce V-Class comes in Taylor's signature shape; Grand Auditorium, and embodies the ultimate all-purpose acoustic guitar.

With a size that fits somewhere between a Dreadnought guitar and the Grand Concert, the Grand Auditorium delivers the best of both worlds, with great sound across the spectrum while being perfectly suited for both picking and strumming.

In short; the Taylor 914ce is a multi-dimensional guitar that covers a variety of styles.

Crafting the Builder's Edition 914ce V-Class

For the top of the 914ce, Taylor have used Sitka Spruce. Being strong yet flexible, Sitka Spruce is dynamic and delivers great tone and articulation making it extremely popular for guitar soundboards.

The back and sides of the Taylor 914ce are made from Indian Rosewood. Traditional and very popular, Bob Taylor himself has said Indian Rosewood is among the greatest tonewoods ever.

Attached to the body is a Tropical Mahogany neck with a Scarf joint and 1-3/4" width and a great feeling satin finish. Atop the neck, you'll find an incredibly smooth and extremely playable West African Ebony fretboard.

A Venetian cutaway in the body of the Taylor 914ce allows for easy reach of the higher frets; a must have for adventurous performances and guitar solos.

Expression System 2 Electronics

Using a breakthrough behind-the-saddle design, the Expression System 2 beautifully captures the dynamic properties of the 914ce.

The revolutionary pickup design of the Taylor Expression System 2 delivers the latest in Taylor's continuing innovation in the world of acoustic guitar amplification.

One secret to the ES2's incredible performance is Taylor's patented behind-the-saddle pickup which features three separately positioned and individually calibrated pickup sensors.

This unique placement and specific calibration allows for an increased capture of the dynamic range from the guitar.

Combined with Taylor's own custom-designed professional audio-grade preamp, you get an exceptional amplified tone with incredible response.

Whether you're playing on stage through a PA, plugged into an acoustic amplifier or recording directly onto a computer; the Expression System 2 truly delivers the voice of your Taylor guitar.

Great Hardware and Extra Touches

Up on the headstock of the Taylor 914ce, you'll find gold Gotoh 510 tuners, giving you extremely precise and secure tuning of your strings.

West African Ebony has been used for the bridge pins while the nut is black graphite, enhancing the brightness of your tone and improving sustain.

Providing added comfort while playing, you'll enjoy the inclusion of a bevelled Ebony armrest.

Making for a beautifully ornate guitar, the fretboard features an elaborate Ascension inlay, as does the peghead. On top of that, there is a Paua and Koa trim along much of the body and neck while the soundhole is encircled by a Paua rosette with Koa and Ebony purfling.
