The Marshall Class 5 was designed to be like a smaller version of the iconic Bluesbreaker. Earlier versions of this amp had issues with the cabinet rattling at high volumes, but this was fixed in the C5-01. It has a single guitar input, a volume control and a 3-band EQ set on the top panel. It has two ECC83 preamp tubes and a single EL84 power amp tube driving a single G10F-15 speaker. The rear panel has a mains input (230V UK) and a switch to go from 5W to 0.1W. When in 5W mode, it can be connected to a 16ohm extension cabinet. When in low power mode, headphones can also be connected. This amp is really surprisingly loud in 5W mode and can easily be heard over any loud drummer, making it ideal for any gig situation. The low power mode on this amp does not have any significant effect on the tone and is a much more comfortable volume for playing at home. It is an easily portable amp, weighing only 12kg (26.5lbs) and the handle is very sturdy. An official Marshall amp cover is included.
