With the MXR TBM1 Power 50 you get a signature overdrive pedal for guitar icon Tom Morello, that helps to recreate the raw, hard-hitting sonic voice of his amplifier setup.
This awesome pedal helps to capture the sound and functionality of that setup for use with any rig, whether that's a simple combo amp or a high-end custom stack.
Authentic Amp Tones, Recreated From The Ground Up!
Thanks to the use of MOSFET technology, the Power 50 recreates the preamp stages of Tom's amplifier, reproducing those big, gnarly tones with ease.
Tom eschews the use of overdrive effects pedals, instead relying solely on his amp for those signature tones - once you activate the Power 50, you'll see exactly why.

Controls Taken Right From The Amp
To make things a little more intuitive, MXR have fitted the Power 50 Overdrive with the exact same control interface as Morello's amp, with Gain, Bass, Middle, Treble, Volume, and Presence knobs.
These controls allow you to replicate the exact settings that Tom uses, or even tune the output to your own tastes with relative ease.
Get In The Loop
For a unique tonal twist, Tom usually runs all of the FX pedals through his amplifiers FX loop, so MXR have recreated the exact same feature for the Power 50 Overdrive pedal.
This built-in FX loop taps into the raw signal-clipping point prior to the Presence control and the custom tone-shaping at the output.
If you choose to use the Power 50 as a permanently-engaged "always on" tone-shaper and then run your pedalchain through this FX loop, you don't ever have to worry about tweaking levels of different pedals each time you play at a different venue. Simply adjust the pedal's interface to accomodate venue acoustics, and away you go!

If you and your item aren’t getting along, you have 14 days from when you receive the goods to contact our PMT experts either by phone or email to return your item.
