Premium-Grade Construction

For the body on this guitar, Music Man opted to go with the modern StingRay Special shape carved from Ash, for a more contemporary and lightweight take on the classic StingRay playing feel.

The body has also been given a sleek Matte Black finish and, unlike a traditional StingRay, doesn't feature a pickguard, resulting in the contrasting Black and Gold to really shine through.

In addition to this, the Maple neck has been given a matte Black satin finish with an ultra-smooth Figured Maple fingerboard, resulting in an effortless playing experience for your fretting hand.

Neodymium Humbuckers

In place of the more traditional Alnico, the humbuckers on this BFR StingRay HH come equipped with Neodymium magnets, mounted directly to the body.

This particular metal has a much stronger magnetic pull than Alnico, resulting in a more articulate sound when you play.

In addition to this the 5-way pickup selector allows you to choose from five different humbucker and single coil pickup voicing combinations, giving you plenty of tonal options to play around with.

Complimenting these newly designed pickups is a powerful 18v preamp, in place of the usual 9v electronics, delivering extra headroom and a much more powerful sound than ever before.

Ball Family Reserve

The Ball Family Reserve (BFR) collection was created by Music Man to celebrate their heritage in instrument craftsmanship, and features guitars and basses made from some of the finest figured tone woods and finishes available.

These ultra-rare instruments are available as part of limited production runs, allowing members of the public the chance at owning models previously reserved for Music Man artists and family members.
