Reinventing the Guitar Case

Mono set about reinventing the guitar case, no easy feat, and to do they took inspiration from manufacturing methods used by the military, footwear and extreme outdoor industries.

Combining the best these areas had to offer resulted in the Vertigo electric guitar gig bag.

360 Degree Protection

One great feature of the Vertigo guitar case is the patented neck suspension system that Mono have dubbed the “Headlock” design. 

Simply placing your guitar in the Vertigo guitar case slips the instrument into the Headlock. Once the case is closed, the Headlock will automatically clamp down over the guitar and hold it firmly in place.

Keeping the neck and headstock suspended in this way fully protects your guitar from drops and side-impact which would normally snap the neck.

Further the drop-proof design of the Vertigo guitar case is what Mono call “The Boot”. Utilising manufacturing technology found in the footwear industry, the Vertigo is able to bounce off hard surfaces such as concrete just like a pair of trainers.

Featuring a custom moulded rubber outsole and an EVA inside, The Boot keeps your strap pin and the lower body area of your guitar fully protected. The strap pin will always be kept off the ground.

Integrated throughout the case are ABS panels that deliver the level of protection you’d expect from a hardcase but at a fraction of the weight and in an easy to carry (or wear) gigbag design.

Designed for Durability

Next on their list of goals for the Vertigo, Mono wanted to ensure that this case would last you for years to come. To that end, the Vertigo has been built to military specs, using high-test materials with extreme resistance to the elements and abrasions.

The exterior of the Vertigo electric guitar case has a water-resistant “Sharkskin” shell (don’t worry; it’s 100% animal free) while the interior features a plush lining to protect your guitar and any delicate finishes from scratches and abrasions.

The hardwearing sole that makes up “The Boot” is moulded from Hypalon, the same industrial rubber that is used by the military to create their inflatable rafts and this material does not wear down easily.

Double zips are used to double the lifespan of each pocket, the zip pulls are powder-coated steel and the zips themselves are self-healing nylon zips for extreme durability.

There are two ways of transporting the Vertigo gigbag; the padded shoulder straps or the riveted handle. The handle is made of high-grade webbing to provide an ultra-comfortable grip while bar-tack stitching and steel rivets reinforce it for strength.

Storage Solutions

The Vertigo electric guitar case features specialised storage compartments that were designed with guitarists in mind. Deep pockets allow you to store your items such as pedals, tuners and cables securely and a small interior mesh pocket allows you to keep smaller, critical items close at hand for when you need them.
