The Meinl Headliner Designer 10" Conga, Phantom Black with Stand is constructed from Siam Oak, providing exceptional durability, authentic tones, and excellent projection. Fitted with a 2mm rounded rim, the 10" Conga provides a comfortable playing surface for optimal playability, responsive to all playing techniques. Additionally, the shell is armed with 8mm strong tuning lugs, providing consistent and reliable tuning every time you play. Hand-selected Buffalo heads provide an authentic playing surface and tone. This listing also includes a height-adjustable basket conga stand and a tuning key. The main thing here is the rounded rims, there are some congas out there with rim/hoop that is slightly bigger, and although your technique needs to be on point these mentioned hoops that are a little bit bigger hurt when you excellently smash the knuckle of your thumb on them. the heads feel absolutely great and it doesn't take too much power to get the tone out there into the ether
