The Mapex Saturn V Tour range features the same shell construction as the Saturn V series, with the same attention to detail when it comes to sound, just with a classic look.

Classic Saturn Sound
This 18” x 16” floor tom is constructed from 6 plies of maple and walnut and has a shell thickness of 5.1mm.
The Maple and Walnut blend serves to offer strong attack and rich tone, with projection ideal for both live and studio settings.
Not only does this tom have the power and attack needed for modern music styles, it also offers depth with full, rich tone. It’s the classic sound that has made the Mapex Saturn series so popular.
Maple is characterised by an even amount of high and mid frequencies, with a slightly warm low end. Walnut, meanwhile, offers an equal amount of high, mid and low frequencies producing a big warm sound.
The combination of the two works to create a tom sound that is well represented across all frequencies for a full, well-balanced tone with great warmth.
SONIClear Bearing Edges
As with all Mapex kits, the Mapex Saturn V Tour comes with SONIClear bearing edges. This innovative technology, specific to Mapex, was designed to make the drum head sit flatter for a better shell to head contact. This not only allows for improved resonance and more tone but also simplifies the tuning process, extends the tuning range and helps heads stay in tune longer.
In a nutshell, it enables quicker, longer lasting, more consistent drum tuning allowing you to spend more time drumming and less time tuning.
Attention to Detail
As you would expect from high-end Mapex kits, the Mapex Saturn V tom features a variety of key details.
This floor tom is fitted with 2.3mm power hoops and comes complete with chrome mounts and floor toms legs.
The Black Strata wrap is perfectly complemented by the signature shield shaped Mapex chrome lugs and black M Mapex badge.
Beautiful Black Strata
This 18” tom is finished with a stunning Black Strata finish for a truly vintage appearance. Reminiscent of classic kits from the 60s and 160s, this Mapex Saturn tom has a classic look thanks to the speckled wrap that beautifully blends silvery blue, white and black colours to create an overall striking vintage aesthetic.
