A re-imagining and newly optimised version of the original Cherry Bomb snare, the Design Lab cherry bomb has been crafted with a medium-thick Cherrywood shell.
The soft density of Cherry allows it to absorb higher overtones, giving your performance a warm and focused tone with a punchy delivery.
Black Panther Design Lab Snare Drum
Being a Design lab snare, the Mapex Cherry Bomb features a Puresound Custom Series 16-strand wire. With medium-gauged, evenly spaced coils, this wire provides an even balance between the snare response and shell sound.
As standard on all Black Panther Design Lab shells, the Cherry Bomb also features a SONIClear Bearing Edge which allows the drumhead to sit flatter so it can make better contact with the shell. This gives you a clearer fundamental pitch along with more consistent tuning and a dramatically expanded tuning range.
Precision Engineering and Great Sound
In order to ensure smooth operation, the cylinder-drive drainer and butt-end adjuster use a self-lubricating bearing.
Utilisation of "œmicro-clock" technology in the adjustment dial allows you to have precise control while preventing the snare wires from loosening during play.
You will also find that the softer Cherry shell produces a beautiful pre-EQ sound with great response in the 400-600 Hz frequency range. This gives you beautifully strong low-end while a boost in the 5-7 kHz range enhances your attack for an awesome vintage tone that works great for classic and alt-rock styles.
