From the 1960's onwards, most records recorded to the present day probably had a Ludwig Black Beauty snare drum on it.
This latest incarnation of the Black Beauty snare develops Ludwig's iconic history and heritage fused with modern design continuing the legendary status that this snare radiates.

This Ludwig hammered Black Beauty snare delivers a rounded warm voice, with clear brassy metallic tone.
Constructed from a single sheet of brass that is machine drawn into a seamless beaded 1.2mm thick shell, this snare is engineered with perfection.
The warm and resonant tone works across the highs, mids and lows, delivering an even sound across the frequencies, ideal for on stage or in the studio.

The beaded shell is surrounded by 10 Ludwig Imperial Lugs delivering a classic art deco style, instantly recognisable and definable.
The lugs are finished in a shimmering chrome, which contrasts perfectly with the dark nickel plated brass shell.
High Quality Hardware
The shell adorned with 2.3mm Steel Triple Flanged Hoops delivering a versatile crystal clear tone.
Providing a reliable hold and snare adjustment, the Black Beauty Snare has the P88AC throw off and P35P butt plate installed.
Ludwig Weather Master Heads
Fitted with Ludwig Weather Master drumheads as standard, these to heads produce a warm resonance and balanced output.
The batter side features a Ludwig Weather Master Medium Coated Head and the resonant side is fitted with a Ludwig Weather Master Clear Snare Side Head.
