Building the Jackson 5-String Concert Bass

Due to its lightweight and natural resonances, Poplar has been chosen to form the Jackson JS3VQ’s body.

A double cutaway shape to the body allows for each reach of the highest frets; great for adventurous bass lines and the infamous bass solo!

The body is topped with elegant quilted Maple that looks gorgeous beneath he Transparent Black Burst, giving this 5-string bass guitar a beautifully premium appearance.

Attached to the body is a fast playing satin finished Maple neck. The scarf joint and bolt-on construction ensure great stability and control along with enhanced sustain while graphite reinforcement protects against warping.

Atop the neck is a 12” – 16” compound radius fretboard, giving you the perfect playability wherever your fretting hand takes the performance.

Great Electronics

Giving the Jackson JS3VQ the powerful voice needed for a classic Jackson 5-string bass is a set of two high-output humbucking bass pickups.

These pickups give you fat and powerful low end growl without the high-end fizzle.

You can further shape your sound with the onboard active 3-band EQ and two separate volume controls to get the perfect tone.
