With the Jackson Audio The Optimist you get a premium-grade, boutique-style effects pedal that combines two distinctive Overdrive Circuits with EQ controls, and MIDI compatibility.
This amazing pedal has been created in collaboration with Vulfpeck's Cory Wong, and is an updated take on one of the most celebrated and south-after overdrives ever created, fused with something altogether more transparent, and is designed to inspire some seriously fine lead and rhythm lines.
Jackson Audio Optimist Dual Overdrive Pedal Key Features
Designed in collaboration with Cory Wong (Vulfpeck, Fearless Flyers) - regarded as one of the foremost modern guitar players, Cory Wong is a longtime user of Jackson Audio products, with The Optimist being his second signature collaboration with them (after El Guapo)
Two separately switchable mid-gain Overdrive circuits and a studio grade EQ circuit - OD1 circuit based on a Klon-style effect - a hard-to-find, incredibly expensive pedal featuring mystical Germanium diodes - whilst OD2 circuit is a Timmy-style transparent full-range overdrive circuit that sits perfectly flat across the full range of the guitar
Active Baxandall-inspired 3-band EQ - based on the legendary Baxandall EQ, and featuring +/- 12dB Boost/Cut per band, this control section offers optimal tone shaping
MIDI control - Each OD Circuit and even the EQ can be controlled via MIDI, offering you an unlimited selection of tones, and allowing you to integrate it into complex rigs
Small footprint and top-mounted jacks - thanks to this pedal's relatively small size, and the position of its jack sockets, it is guaranteed to fit snuggly onto pretty much any pedalboard setup. In addition to this, the rugged outer chassis makes the pedal perfectly suited to life on the road
