Talman Body Shape

Originally released as a guitar in 1994, the Talman offered a great alternative body shape for players seeking something a little different. These guitars combined unusual aesthetics with comfort and great tone.

Unfortunately, the original lineup ceased production in 1998, but now they're back and better than ever, and available for the first time in bass form.

High Quality Construction

With the Ibanez TMB-105 you get that unique body shape, carved from a piece of Poplar. Poplar is a lightweight tonewood, that's prized for its high frequency response, and overall light, yet mellow tone - ideal for an articulate-sounding bass.

In addition to this you get a bolted-on Maple neck capped with a Jatoba fingerboard, adding plenty of snap, and great projection to your playing.

Dynamix Pickups

Situated in the middle and bridge positions of this body you'll find a set of Dynamix Pickups in a P/J configuration.

This combination brings together the punchy "P"-style split coil sound with a mellow-yet-biting "J"-style single coil pickup. When used in conjunction with the 2-band EQ, you can dial-in tones ranging from smooth and vintage, through to thunderous rock.

What's a 5-String Bass?

Traditionally, bass guitars come equipped with 4-strings, usually tuned to E, A, D and G, however the Ibanez TMB-105 features a 5th string - a Low B. This B-string is lower in tone than the E string, giving you the option of extra, lower notes when you play.
