Bartolini Pickups

BH2 pickups from Bartolini provide you with a tight bottom-end, punchy mid-range, and smooth response. The dual-coil style magnets help maximise the articulation of your playing, and the specially designed long blade pole pieces provide you with balanced string to string pickup response.

Multi Scale Construction

As you'll notice from the above image, the SMS805 sports an unusial looking fretboard, with fanned frets - this is due to the multi-scale nature of the bass's setup. The 35.5" low B string keeps proper tension even at down tuning and accurate pitch without becoming uncomfortable. The 34" G string, which is the same as regular scale, is even smoother to play especially in the melodic upper frets, and offers a punchy, sweet tone.

This ensures that each string is at the correct tension, and produces the most accurate, clear tones possible across the entire fretboard. Despite this unusual construction, the nature of the SRM5 neck ensures a consistently comfortable playing experience regardless of your playing style.

Mono-rail V Bridge

Often described as the "ultimate bridge for bass string isolation", the Mono-rail V is not to be sniffed at. Each string has it's own individual bridge, ensuring that they're independently and securely locked down to the body, resulting in maximum vibration transfer without interference.

As if this wasn't enough, there's an EQ bypass switch allowing you to play with the sweet and pure tones of the pickups themselves without the aid of the EQ (although with the EQ switched off, the Treble control reverts to a passive tone control, giving you the option of sculpting your sound a little should you need it).
