The Ibanez SR series consistently excites with its incredible combination of its smooth, fast neck, lightweight body and perfectly matched electronics.
Electronics Designed for Versatility
The SR655-NTF comes with Nordstrand CND pickups in a classic P/J/ configuration. This results in a versatile setup that is indispensable for the modern musician that likes to mix things up. The P-style pickup allows for deep, wide tone with a lot of punch while the single-coil bridge pickup gives you a classic J players sound.
The flexibility of preamp allows for a massive modern sound that can go from raging slap solos to smooth R&B or heavy metal.
An Ibanez Custom Electronics 3-Band EQ with EQ bypass switch provides you with extremely precise control over your tone at all times and allows you to easily switch to a passive-only operation. With the EQ bypass activated the treble tone control knob becomes a global tone control for the passive circuit.
Quality Build
The SR655 features a thin yet sturdy and stable 5-piece SR5 neck. The neck is crafted from Jatoba and Bubinga neck which, combined with its extended neck joint making the upper frets easily accessible, delivers superior playability.
The SR5 neck features a Rosewood fretboard with abalone oval inlay and medium frets.
The body of the SR655, as with all the SR600 bass guitars from Ibanez, is made of Ash which brings superior tonal quality and clarity of sound. An Accu-Cast B300 bridge is used to keep the strings solidly in place while transferring vibrations from the strings into the body.
The extra string of this 5 string Ibanez bass guitar allows you to take your music deeper and heavier than a 4 string bass can achieve.
