Sustainiac Pickup System

The excellent Sustainiac neck pickup on the Ibanez JS2480 can off you near endless sustain on your playing should you wish. With clever manipulation of the control switch you can achieve as much sustain as you could wish for, a special harmonic mix to give you feedback-type sounds (but worry not, the feedback is always controlled), and even the ability to mimic string and violin type tones and sound-swells! Activate the Sustainiac system by simply lifting the Tone control knob, and switch it back into a standard neck pickup again by pushing the knob back in.

DiMarzio Satchur8 Bridge Humbucker

Joe Satriani's latest signature pickup from DiMarzio is the incredible Satchur8. This powerful humbucker has been developed specifically for the Ibanez JS2480 and features an Alnico 8 bar magnet. The Satchur8 produces a much greater depth, with warmer highs and mids than a standard ceramic pickup, making for a much more versatile options for the modern guitarist.

High Pass Filter

Built into the Volume control pot is a handy little feature: the High-Pass Filter. Once the knob is pulled upwards the filter is activated, and helps to maintain high-frequency volume even at lower volume levels, making sure you're never lost in the mix during those quiet moments in songs.

Exotic Wood Neck Construction

The neck on the Ibanez JS2480 has been specially constructed from Maple and Bubinga. The Bubinga stripe provides the neck with extra stability, and an increase in sustain, making this sleek, smooth and lightweight neck perfect for fast and technical playstyles.

JS/Edge Tremolo

The original Ibanez Edge Tremolo/Bridge unit has long been a favourite of Joe Satriani's, so it's no surprise to see it on the Ibanez JS2480.
