A Collaboration Lasting Over Four Decades

George Benson an Ibanez have been working together for over 40 years now and if you’ve seen George Benson playing guitar in the last 40 years then chances are it was an Ibanez.

The GB10 is actually the longest running signature in the entire Ibanez family and there’s a clear reason why; through a unique collaboration with a jazz legend and the impeccable workmanship of Ibanez, only good can come.

Craftsmanship

From the beginning, to minimise the chance of feedback occurring, George helped Ibanez to design a small body shape which has resulted in the GB10SE having a small, comfortably sized body when comparing it to conventional jazz guitars.

A single cutaway in the body of the guitar allows for easier playing of the higher frets. The top is made of Spruce with the back and sides crafted from Maple.

Set-in construction sees the joining of a three-piece Maple neck to the body of the GB10SE. The neck is quite chunky, offering a solid foundation that’s easy to play without ever feeling uncomfortable or cumbersome.

The bound fretboard is made of Ebony, chosen due to the lovely, bright quality it can bring to your guitar’s tone while also being incredibly hard-wearing so it is sure to be in great condition even after years of playing.

Acrylic and abalone block position inlays having a striking and eye-catching appearance, contrasting nicely with the dark Ebony of the fretboard.

An Ebony bridge and special GB10 tailpiece have a solid grasp on the strings while allowing for nicely prolonged sustain. A half-bronze, half-bone nut adds to the gorgeously bright tone of the Ibanez GB10SE.

GB Special Humbucker Pickups

The Ibanez GB10SE comes equipped with two GB Special humbuckers. Due to being fitted to the guitar with a special floating construction, the GB special pickups allow you to push your output nice and high with confidence your performance won’t be spoiled by overwhelming feedback.

Sure Grip II knobs allow you to quickly and easily grab the controls and adjust the volume and tone to your liking.
