Pinnacle of Ibanez Craftsmanship
A Mahogany back and with Spruce top combine to fantastic effect. Spruce is well known for its fantastic characteristics such as strength and elasticity making it ideal for a tonewood while the darker Mahogany complements this perfectly.
In order to deliver a beautifully rich acoustic tone, the SRH505F body is semi-hollow. This 55m thick semi-hollow body delivers a beautifully natural quality to your tone while the solid elements allow for extended sustain; a requirement for modern music while broadening the capabilities of this bass.
Designed for Playability and Comfort
A classic Rosewood fretboard with stylish offset position markers takes pride of place atop a 5-piece Jatoba and Bubinga neck.
A specially crafted neck heel features an incredibly smooth contour, creating a deep neck joint for unconstrained access to the upper frets.
Furthermore, found at the top of the SRH505F’s bod is a specially designed forearm contour offering enhanced playing comfort while adding an extra layer to its already gorgeous aesthetic.
AeroSilk Piezo Pickup
Exclusive to Ibanez is the AeroSilk Piezo pickup. A custom bridge fitted in the SRH505F houses the power of the AeroSilk Piezo system.
This incredible pickup maintaings that beautiful warm sound from the semi-hollowbody and when combined with flat wound strings, you get that awesomely smooth sound and acoustic characteristic that you expect from a traditional upright bass.
In the back of the SRH505F you will find individual pots for each saddle allowing you to get the perfect balance between strings and offering a whole new level of customisability over your sound.
You’ll find this unique piezo level control particularly useful when experimenting with different string gauges and styles. On the front of the SRH505F you will find a volume and active tone knobs to control the overall output of your bass.

With the use of top quality woods, incredible craftsmanship and perfectly matched and engineered electronics, it is clear that the Ibanez Bass Workshop have delivered something unique, beautiful and sonically incredible.
