Wood Hoop Aluminium Snare

The Gretsch Aluminium Snare is part of the “Full Range” Snare drum series. This range does exactly what it says, it offers a full range of snare sounds that cover a wide variety of musical situations and styles. Articulate Aluminium

The shell of this 14” x 6.5” snare drum is constructed from 1.2mm thick seamless steel. A lack of seam makes the shell much more solid with no weak points that come with a joint. The inherent nature of aluminium gives this snare a crunchy, dry tone with a focused articulate attack. The snare has very minimal overtones, instead offering a short sharp snappy sound.

Play the centre of the head for a focused dry attacking sound with superb sensitivity or opt for the edge of the drum for an added ring and increased tone filled sustain.

The 6.5” depth of the shell adds a thickness to the sound over thinner 5.5” aluminium options for a fuller, more robust sound.

The shell is also finished with 30 degree bearing edges for added warmth of tone.

Rock Maple Hoops

Something that makes this snare stand out from other aluminium snares on the market is the wooden hoops that come fitted as standard. Not only do they give the snare a striking aesthetic they also add a great tonal characteristic to the overall snare sound.

Finishing Touches

This 10 lug Gretsch Full Range Aluminium snare is fitted with a fully adjustable strainer for easy adjustment of the snare response and has a fixed butt plate. It also features a 20 strand snare wire held in place with black nylon snare straps. The snare drum is fitted out with Remo USA Ambassador heads.

The natural brushed aluminium finish of the shell is beautifully complemented by the chrome Gretsch double-ended lugs and modern gold detailed Gretsch badge.
