Iconic riff-master Tony Iommi is renowned for penning some of the most influential heavy metal guitar hooks of all time, with his heavy guitar tones helping create the blueprint for metal music and its many subgenres since the late 1960s.

Tony's signature sound was a result of innovative tuning techniques and playing styles, but at the core of this sound was a heavily-modified 1964 Gibson SG - which was the main inspiration behind this Gibson USA SG Special.

Built To Rock

True to the original 1964 model's design, this excellent guitar has been crafted with a slimline Mahogany body, with those contoured upper-bout cutaways offering easy access to the guitar's upper frets.

Glued in to the body with a slick-playing Mahogany neck, with a rounded profile, and bound Rosewood fingerboard that your fretting hand can liberally glide over with ease.

Both the body and the neck have been given a Vintage Cherry finish, for that classic 1960s SG aesthetic.

Monstrous Tones

Powering the voice on this amazing guitar you'll find a pair of Gibson USA P-90 single coil pickups, sitting at the neck and bridge positions respectively.

These soapbar-style pickups produce a sound that is both bright and rich - not quite as crisp as a traditional single coil, or quite as thick as a humbucker, but somewhere that sits nicely inbetween.

The end result is a sound that is perfectly suited to a wide range of music, from Blues to Metal and everything inbetween, whilst the independent Volume and Tone controls will allow you to fine-tune your sound accordingly.

Premium Appointments

Bringing the whole thing together is a host of top-notch hardware and appointments, all of which deliver a combination of reliability and visual appeal.

Amongst these you will find a Black SG pickguard, binding to the neck, a Graph Tech nut, Grover Rotomatic tuners, and an adjustable wraparound bridge.

In addition to this, the guitar also ships with a hardshell case and an optional "Monkey" sticker, just like the one which adorned Tony's original SG.
