Exceptional Crafting
The Gibson Hummingbird is crafted with traditional, time honoured techniques using only the best quality tone woods.
As a result, you get a guitar that looks, feels and sounds fantastic.
The solid top of the Gibson Hummingbird is made from Sitka Spruce. Known for its durability, strength and elasticity, Sitka Spruce is able to produce beautiful resonance and complex tones with great projection.
Gibson have crafted the back and sides of the Hummingbird from Mahogany because of its great volume and delivery of clear, bright and airy trebles.
Traditional, hand-scalloped x-bracing is incorporated, adding to the fantastic resonance and tone of the Hummingbird while also bolstering the build.
Old School Neck
Securely attached with a compound dovetail neck-to-body joint is a Mahogany neck sporting a round neck profile.
This style of neck harkens back the origins of this amazing guitar, giving you a more substantial grip that is ideal if you have bigger hands.
Atop the neck, you'll find a traditional Rosewood neck, giving you a fantastic playing area and completing the vintage feel.
Mother-of-Pearl parallelograms are used as position inlays, guiding the way while adding to the already stunning aesthetic of the Gibson Hummingbird.
LR Baggs VTC Electronics
The Gibson Hummingbird electro-acoustic guitar is fitted with an LR Baggs VTC system so you can get fantastic sound, plugged in and unplugged.
With most electro-acoustic guitars, as soon as you plug them in you lose that natural sound of the guitar's body.
This is because many electronic systems that are used just transfer the vibration of the strings, not taking anything from the characteristics of the tone wood.
With this in mind, the LR Baggs VTC system has been designed to do everything the others fail to do.
The pickup itself is designed to mirror the movement of your soundboard while you play.
Because of this, you get the natural sound of your guitar's body instead of just the strings alone.
Voiced specifically for acoustic guitar, the VTC gives you studio quality sound with analogue warmth, right there on the stage.
Furthermore, it uses built-in low, mid and high frequency compressors that respond in real time to your playing dynamics.
As a result, you get consistently stellar sound with common problem frequencies suppressed.
Discrete volume and tone controls can be found within the soundhole, allowing you to conveniently sculpt your sound on the go.
High Quality Hardware
On the body of the Gibson Hummingbird is a traditional, belly up style Rosewood bridge with TUSQ bridge pins, offering fantastic transfer of vibration from the strings to the solid Sitka Spruce top.
TUSQ is also used for the nut and saddle because it is precision engineered under high heat and pressure.
As a result of this treatment, the saddle remains uniform in density throughout and works wonderfully in tandem with the Rosewood bridge while the nut enhances the frequencies that remain in the strings, giving you fantastic sustain.
Up on the headstock, there are six Grover Rotomatic tuning machines with kidney buttons, offering precise and incredibly secure tuning of your strings.
Whatever Your Style
From full on rock and roll rhythm to delicate fingering styles, because of the exceptional crafting and top quality woods the Hummingbird will have you excelling at whatever you choose.
Coming to you in a Gibson hard shell case with an accessory kit included, you have everything you need to take care of your investment.
