Vintage Original Spec

From the tuners to the wiring and beyond, any Gibson guitar with the VOS (Vintage Original Spec) status is guaranteed to look, feel, and sound exactly like the guitar it is inspired by - in this case a 1964 ES-335.

This guitar has been created from the ground up with the exact same specs as the original, including the wiring, hardware, and even the types of glue used in its construction, to deliver a large dose of vintage Gibson authenticity.

To achieve this, the experts at the Gibson Custom Shop spent more than a year studying, scanning, and listening to examples of the original guitar, eventually producing the most accurate recreation to date.

Top Notch Construction

To deliver that famed ES-335 resonance, the dual cutaway body on this guitar has been crafted from 3-ply Maple / Poplar / Maple, and features every contour and appointment that you'd expect to find on an ES from this era (mid 1960s).

In addition to this, the Mahogany Neck has been carved with an Authentic '64 Medium "C"-shape, whilst the bound Rosewood fingerboard was attached using genuine hide glue, resulting in an authentic mid-1960s playing experience.

Not only that, but the inclusion of a Mahogany centre block delivers plenty of natural resonance and sustain, whilst virtually eliminating unwanted feedback even at higher volume levels.

Vintage Semi-Hollow Voice

Custombucker pickups have been specially designed at the Gibson Custom Shop to recreate those prized PAF-like tones.

Due to the Alnico III magnets used in them, these passive, low-output pickups deliver rich tones, with articulate Mid and High frequencies.

These pickups work perfectly in combination with the semi hollow body and Mahogany centre block, for that classic ES-335 voice we all know and love.
