Original Design with Germanium Transistors:The Queen Bee features three New Old Stock Military "Flying Saucer" germanium transistors in an original circuit design. The pedal responds dynamically to input from your hands and guitar, providing clean-up with the guitar's volume knob and delivering sweet mids, clarity, sustain, and harmonics.
Amp-Like Behavior:The design aims to mimic the behavior of an amplifier, offering a responsive and amp-like playing experience. The pedal hits transistor #3 hard, resulting in more sustain and distortion than typical 2-transistor fuzz pedals, while maintaining low noise for a high-gain design.
Maximum Gain Configuration:Transistors #1 and #2 are configured to achieve maximum gain, enhancing sustain and distortion. The pedal is designed to offer ample midrange, ensuring it stands out in the mix.
Passive Hi-Cut Tone Control:Fender amp owners will appreciate the Passive Hi-Cut Tone control for taming treble frequencies. Sonic sculpting is further achieved with a loss-less 3-position Bass switch, tailoring the low frequencies and keeping the bottom-end tight.
Asymmetrical Waveform and Second-Order Harmonics:The pedal produces a wildly asymmetrical waveform high in second-order harmonics, resulting in a commanding voice with tons of sustain. The unique waveform contributes to a rich and expressive tone that won't get lost in the mix.
Internal Trim Pot for Bias Adjustment:The pedal includes an internal trimmer for adjusting the bias of transistor #3, allowing users to customize the sound. The trimmer has a wide adjustment range, providing various tonal characteristics, compression characteristics, and volume levels.
True-Bypass Switching:The Queen Bee utilizes True-Bypass switching via the Fulltone 3PDT footswitch, ensuring maximum signal integrity when the pedal is bypassed.
Power Requirements:Due to the use of Germanium transistors, the pedal should only be powered with the included battery or a "Center Positive," well-regulated power supply. It is advised not to daisy-chain multiple pedals on a single wall wart adapter to avoid potential damage.
